In recent days, a number of Swedish companies have announced that they will extend their holiday to employees in the manufacturing sector this Christmas to cope with the sharp decline in market demand.

One of Sweden's two largest truck manufacturers, Scania, announced on the 3 day that it will stop production in Europe from December 22nd to January 19th next year. It will be a month for 3 Swedish factories and 2 workers in France and Holland.

In addition, it has been suspended for 3 weeks since December 22nd.

According to the Rui Tong news agency, the famous Swedish enterprises such as Electrolux, SKF, and steel maker David wick have announced a long holiday for some manufacturing departments during the Christmas season to reduce the backlog of commodities.

Among them, Electrolux has been giving over 500 employees from a refrigerator factory in Mary Stader, Sweden, from December 8th to let them return to work after new year's day in 2009.
