In September, Retail Sales In South Africa Increased By 8.3%&Nbsp; Clothing And Textiles Increased By 6.1%.

It shows that retail sales in September 2011 amounted to 44 billion 600 million South African (calculated at the base price in 2008), an increase of 8.3% over the same period last year and 42 billion 992 million higher than that of the previous month.


In terms of cumulative performance this year, the sales amount was 383 billion 12 million South African currency, an increase of 5.4% over the same period last year.


In terms of the main retail categories, sales of furniture and electrical appliances increased by 9.3%, not as good as the previous month's growth of 14.6%, breaking the double-digit growth in the past 2 months.


Zero growth in food, beverage, tobacco and alcohol was slightly worse than the previous month.
