Imports Of Clothing Declined Slightly In April 2010.

According to the April clothing import report compiled by the Japan Textile Importers Association, in April, Japan's clothing imports fell by 2.9%, down to 188 billion 707 million yen, and imports fell 0.9% to 405 million 600 thousand, compared with the same period in 2010.


Deliveries of spring and summer clothing from China slowed in March, due to the lack of workers after the Spring Festival in China, but the delivery in April declined slightly because of the active delivery in April.


In April, Japan's clothing imports from China decreased by 4.1% compared to the same period last year, to 163 billion 483 million yen, and imports dropped 2.5% to 362 million 720 thousand.


In April, Japan's imports from Vietnam, India, Thailand and Italy declined. Imports from Italy fell by 15.2% to 1 billion 256 million yen.


In addition, imports and imports of Japan from Bangladesh, South Korea, Indonesia, Burma and the United States all increased.
