According to the data of the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to May, 36000 enterprises above designated size in the national textile industry achieved an operating income of 2056.81 billion yuan, up 7.1% year on year; The profit was 73.44 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 19.5%.

Yang Jichao said that from the current situation, several reductions in global economic growth, high inflation and low consumer confidence are not conducive to the substantial recovery of demand for textile and clothing products. It is difficult to smoothly transmit the cost pressure on the production side of the industry, and the fluctuation of commodity prices makes it more difficult for enterprises to make business decisions and control costs, The US restrictions on the import of Xinjiang products also led to the deterioration of the terms of trade, which led the textile industry to face certain pressure in the second half of the year when it completely walked out of the dilemma of "high cost, high inventory, weak demand, and low profit".

In his speech, Liu Jianguo first analyzed the development of the textile and clothing industry in the province in the first half of the year. Liu Jianguo said that the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province formulated and issued the 2022 Action Plan for Modern Light Industry and Textile Industry, which proposed a number of tasks, measures and development paths.
