How many years have you worked in the industry? What does this industry look like in your mind?
Chen Dapeng I graduated from university in 1987 and was assigned to the then Ministry of textile industry, which is equivalent to 34 years. It can be said that these 34 years have witnessed the development, progress and changes of the whole industry, and I have also experienced the transformation of the industry management service system.
I have worked in the industrial economy research, international exchange and cooperation, including the construction of market platform, and then worked in the clothing association. This year is just 20 years. I feel very sad to think about it all the way.
We often say that this is a traditional industry, yes, but I think it is a basic consumer goods industry that keeps pace with the times and creates a better life. It is also a high-tech application industry, an industry created by cultural creativity and culture, and an urban industry with a large space for value creation.

What has impressed you most over the years?
Chen Dapeng One thing that impressed me deeply was that in 2007, Minister Du Yuzhou and I went to the "four party talks" (China, Europe, the United States and Japan). Because of the cancellation of quotas in 2005, China's textile and clothing exports grew rapidly in those years. At that time, there were many international accusations and trade frictions, so the atmosphere of the meeting was not friendly at the beginning.
Director Du made a speech with a high degree of magnanimity. He talked about the general trend of the development of the textile and clothing industry in the whole world, and the twisted restraint of the quota system in the past few years has led to a release in recent years. Our industries are open, and we are willing to work with you for win-win development.
The effect of the speech was very good, which changed their views and understanding of our industry. So after the meeting, everyone came to shake hands. Later, I thought, this incident really turned into a turning point for the new development of communication and cooperation under the background of very tense trade friction at that time.

What changes have taken place in this industry and when you first entered? How do you feel?
Chen Dapeng In recent decades, the connotation and attributes of our industry have been greatly expanded and enriched.
In recent years, the quality of the industry has improved very fast, especially from entrepreneurs to people in different positions in the industry. They not only have a strong market-oriented concept and a sense of innovation, but also have a passion for the industry Strong feelings. This is very valuable and very important.

What do you think is the most prominent problem in the industry?
Chen Dapeng On the one hand, we should firmly grasp the progress of science and technology and use new technology to realize the transformation and upgrading of the industry. On the other hand, the promotion of industry cultural creativity, the development of industrial culture based on Chinese excellent culture, the innovation of fashion, the establishment of Chinese fashion discourse system in the world, China's fashion discourse power, also includes the improvement of the soft power of our whole industry.

What do you want to say to people in the industry?
Chen Dapeng We are lucky to be born in such a great era, and we are also lucky to be engaged in such a beautiful cause. We should realize the leap forward of the construction of industry power and the leap from manufacturing power to fashion power. This should be the common mission and responsibility of our generation of industry people who love the industry. Let's work together!
