From wool entering the factory to producing wool tops, yarns, blankets, woolen fabrics, worsted fabrics... Shenyang can produce all woolen products if only wool comes in. Historical trace: In addition to wool spinning, the earliest national cotton spinning enterprise in Northeast China, the strength of Shenyang cotton spinning cannot be underestimated. In Li Yi's memory, the annual output value of Shenyang cotton spinning was nearly 300000 spindles at that time. When it comes to cotton spinning, Li Yi also talked about a history related to it.

"Cotton spinning is represented by Shenyang Textile Factory with a scale of 100000 spindles. The former site of Shenyang Textile Factory is located in the south of the North Market, and its predecessor is Fengtian Textile Factory." According to records, Fengtian Textile Factory was founded in 1921 by Wang Yongjiang, then the governor of Fengtian, and Zhang Zuolin once became a shareholder. It is the earliest national cotton spinning enterprise in Northeast China jointly invested by officials and businessmen. The spinning mill is also famous nationwide because Liu Shaoqi and other older revolutionaries led the labor movement here. " Li Yi said that Fengtian Textile Factory changed its name several times and was renamed Shenyang Textile Factory after 1958.

Today, walking on the Fushun Road in Heping District, you can still see the zigzag imitation European style buildings rebuilt in the original site of Fengtian Textile Factory. Li Yi said that the annual dyeing capacity of Shenyang printing and dyeing plant in the 1980s could reach more than one billion meters, "The corduroy and velveteen printed by the Second Printing and Dyeing Factory are almost all covered by the garment factories in Wuxi, Zhangjiagang and other regions. The manufacturers in these regions use the materials produced in Shenyang to process children's clothing, which is sold at home and abroad."

In Li Yi's memory, the cloth produced by the local textile factory is often not enough to be dyed, so he has to purchase extra cloth from other places to print and dye. "Sometimes in order to buy corduroy, we have to trust relationships," said Li Yi.

In the late 1990s, some problems of Shenyang's textile industry emerged in the waves of commerce, and Shenyang's textile industry, which missed the best opportunity to take off, gradually slipped to the low tide.
