Canada's Friends of the Earth Canada submitted an application asking the Canadian competition authority to investigate false and misleading information released by 23 manufacturers of so-called "washable" wipes and other disposable products.

Disposable napkins, including baby wipes and personal wipes, such as Cottonelle, Charmin and President's Choice, and other brands, are labeled as "washable" wipes and claimed to be safe to drain into the sewers.

However, recently, the Ryerson University of Canada tested 101 disposable products. All products except toilet paper failed to pass through the drain clearance and decomposition test. University

Many products consist of plastic or regenerated cellulose.

Friends of the Earth believes that marking these products as "punching" wet wipes is wrong and misleading, which can cause environmental pollution.

The application claims that disposable disposable punching wipes have become an important source of expenditure for municipal water supply and personnel management. The "punching" wet towel has blocked water pumps, filters and filters. Every year, Canada needs to pay at least $250 million for additional repairs and maintenance costs.

Lawyer Bronwyn Roe said: "punching" wipes can not be washed. The label of "punching type" can mislead consumers, which may cause serious damage to sewage system and waterway system.

These problems can not be attributed to consumers, but to manufacturers' problems.

They wrongly put these napkins on the label of "Chong Chong".

Only suitable labels can help handle the wet towels away from our sewers.

Friends of the Earth Canada CEO Beatric Olivastrik said: "the Canadian competition authority is required to investigate and impose a $230 million penalty on false and misleading advertisements.

Although disposable wipes are very convenient, these products, made of plastic or synthetic materials, will cause serious environmental impact not only on the actual cost of municipal taxpayers, but also on the environment.

Insiders should change the status quo by refusing to buy and refuse to wash these products. "

The United States nonwovens Association (INDA) has been working hard to refute the claim that the disposable paper towels cause sewage problems, claiming that the problem of sewage is caused by non punched baby wet paper towels and other non punching wet towels.

INDA has developed several sets of test guides to prevent erroneous handling of non punching items.
