Survey Of Export Trade Of Textiles And Garments In Kampuchea In 2018
Exports to the US market
Export volume: in 2018 1-12, the total value of exports of textiles and garments amounted to US $2 billion 550 million, up 14% from the same period of the previous year. The main export items were garments and apparel, fibers and yarns were not exported, and fabrics and miscellaneous products were exported little.
The export value of garments and clothing was $2 billion 410 million, up 12% from the same period in the previous year.
Export volume: the export volume of garments and clothing in 2018 1-12 was 1 billion 10 million square meters, up 9% from the same period of the previous year.
Fabrics and miscellaneous products grew by 154% and 27% respectively.
The average unit price of exports: the average unit price of garments and clothing is $2.39 per square meter, up 3% from the US $2.31 in the same period of the previous year, and the average unit price of fabrics and miscellaneous products decreased by 14% and 34% respectively (see Table 1).
Export to EU market
Export volume: in 2018 1-12, the total value of exports of textiles and garments reached US $4 billion 710 million, up 11% from the same period in the previous year.
The main export products are garments and garments, fibers and yarns are not exported, but cloth and miscellaneous items are exported very little.
The export value of garments and clothing is US $4 billion 680 million, which is almost equal to the total export value.
The value of exports grew by 11% over the same period of the previous year.
Export volume: the export volume of garments and clothing in 2018 1-12 was 242 thousand tonnes, up 10% from the same period of the previous year.
Fabrics and miscellaneous items grew by 3% and 40% respectively.
The average unit price of exports: the average unit price of overall textiles and garments decreased by 0.3% over the same period of the previous year.
The average unit price of garments and clothing products increased from $19.30 per kilogram in the previous year to $19.34, up 0.2% from the same period in the previous year, while fabric and miscellaneous products were reduced by 26% and 8% respectively (see table two).
Remarks: the 1~12 monthly average exchange rate in 2017 is 1.13 dollar/eur and the 1~12 monthly average exchange rate in 2018 is 1.18 dollar/eur.
