Baoshan Strives To Build A High Quality Silkworm Silk And Cocoon Silk Textile Industrial Base

Baoshan held a sericultural work conference to sum up the achievements of sericulture industry in 2014 and arrange for the sericulture production in 2015.

Zhang Jing, chairman of the Municipal Committee of CPPCC and leader of sericultural industry leading group, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. She pointed out that after years of efforts, the sericulture industry in Baoshan has gone to the track of sound development. In 2014, the sericulture industry has achieved new results. The production situation is better than in previous years. The newly planted mulberry garden area is 15 thousand and 600 mu. The total development area of the mulberry garden has reached 200 thousand mu, which has maintained fourth places in the whole province. New steps have been taken in the construction of the key villages in the demonstration park; the sericultural work has been steadily advancing; the level of agricultural industrialization has been continuously improving; the demonstration and driving effect of the key villages is obvious.

Of course, there are also problems in the development of sericulture industry, such as the destruction of mulberry land in industrial land and road construction, and the severe challenges brought by drought normalization.

Zhang Jing urged that the city should seize the opportunity of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government to speed up the development of the characteristic agricultural modernization with high altitude, grasp the new changes, and effectively promote the pformation and upgrading of sericulture industry.

In 2015, the whole city will realize 15 thousand mu of new mulberry garden.

The total area reached 215 thousand mu; 11 high yield mulberry demonstration areas were built, 15 thousand mu of low yield mulberry fields were rebuilt, 100 thousand silkworms were reproduced, and 3 million 500 thousand cocoons were produced.

Consolidate the core base of township (town) 11, key villages 89, realize agricultural output value 200 million yuan, industrial output value 200 million yuan, tax 10 million yuan.

To accomplish the objectives and tasks, the whole city should carry out the implementation of all the work with eight "early" measures, namely, the early introduction of supporting policies, the early planning of new planting areas, the early determination of key villages in the demonstration parks, the early planning of the development projects for the new districts, the early plan for the low yield mulberry pformation, the early implementation of high-quality silkworm breeding projects, the early promotion of propaganda and early promotion, and the enhancement of the strength of the projects.

The city should focus on the development of "government driven, enterprise driven, market driven, four level linkage, farmer initiative and overall mobilization".

The core base township (town), key villages and demonstration parks, consolidate and enhance the old mulberry garden, speed up the development of new mulberry gardens, take pformation, upgrading and efficiency as the theme, rely on scientific and technological progress and mechanism innovation, constantly promote the scale, standardization and industrialization of sericulture production and operation level, and build Baoshan into a high-quality silkworm production base in Yunnan province and a cocoon silk textile industrial base.
