Invest Seven Hundred Million Nike Suzhou To Build Asia'S Largest Logistics Center

Yesterday, Nike announced that it will invest 99 million US dollars (equivalent to 673 million 202 thousand yuan) to build the largest logistics center in Asia in Taicang, Jiangsu, and lay a solid foundation for future expansion in China.

The logistics center has a total area of 120 thousand square meters, which is located in Taicang Economic Development Zone, Jiangsu province.

The initial project of the completed logistics center will sort out the footwear, clothing and equipment products.

Taking into account the further development of Nike's business in China, the design of the logistics center has also reserved room for expansion to cope with the further development of Nike's business in China, including the possible entry of sub brand products.

The project started in the spring of 2009 and is scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2010. The project will be put into operation in the early second quarter of 2011.

The information disclosed by the website of the Jiangsu development and Reform Commission shows that "after the completion of the project, the total quantity of annual warehousing and warehousing is 240 million times."

Wei Hanting, vice president and general manager of Nike China, pointed out that after the completion of the new logistics center, the delivery time can be reduced by 15% at most.

At present, the Nike brand has seven logistics centers worldwide, with the largest two centers in the European Belgian Dahl and the Northridge in Memphis, USA.

Other centers are located in Shelby, Memphis, California, Scarborough, Japan, Fuli, and Inchon, Korea.
