Jiangsu Apparel Association Jointly Works With Us Shoe And Clothing Organizations To Discuss Industry Development.
The AAFA and ACATA will jointly convene the first US product safety and restricted materials seminar in Nanjing in from March 30 to 31, 2009 in Jiangsu.
The seminar in Nanjing is mainly aimed at garment enterprises.
Another seminar will be held in Dongguan, Guangdong, in from March 26 to 27, 2009, mainly for shoe-making enterprises.
Li Suiying, Secretary General of the American Apparel and Footwear Association, said that in November 2008, the United States formally passed the new product safety act. The bill contained strict regulations on the use of chemical substances in some products, which had a great impact on a large number of Chinese enterprises which mainly exported clothing, shoes and toys to the United States, especially for children's products.
Therefore, in order to ensure that Chinese enterprises do not have any dangerous substances to export clothing and shoes in the United States, and help enterprises understand the relevant provisions of the new product safety act of the United States, the AAFA and ACATA will hold the first China product safety and restricted materials Seminar on this issue. At that time, the consumer products safety committee (CPSC) and famous enterprises such as Nike and WAL-MART will be invited to attend this conference.
The meeting will focus on the new product safety bill adopted by the United States. The conference will also discuss how manufacturers, distributors and laboratories can ensure compliance with all the standards in the supply chain.
