The formula of 100ml printing paste contains: dye concentrate 4.0mL, dragon glue 5.0g, fixing agent 1.0ml, mordant (according to paste weight) alum 10% or copper sulfate 1.2% or ferrous sulfate 1.5%.

The printed silk is degumming and then pressed in semi wet condition after half drying.

The color fastness of printed silk fabric was tested after drying, steaming and washing.

The printing test results showed that the color fastness grade of all four kinds of dyestuffs was good to good, and the results of two different mordant dyeing methods were the same.

However, the washing fastness of printed silk with synchronous mordant method is better than that of pre mordant printing.


Among the four dyes, the color fastness of the leaves of Berberis and alizarin was better.

However, the color fastness to perspiration is related to Berberis and Jatropha curcas.

The color fastness to wet and dry rubbing of synchronous mordant printed silk is also better than that of pre mordant printing.

Therefore, in general, it is better to use the synchronous mordant method for the printing of vegetable dyes.

Printing dyestuffs of different dyestuffs have their own advantages and weaknesses in different items of color fastness. Because of the errors caused by various reasons such as raw materials, production processes and operations, there are often different colors in different batches and even the same batch of fabrics.

If the color difference of fabric is different, if the color light source is different, the color environment will be different, and the color time will be different.

Therefore, in order to accurately evaluate the color difference and ensure the consistency of the color results, we must select the light source matching colors specified by the merchants in the standard coloured light box when visually evaluating the colors, so as to avoid the visual differences due to the different light sources or different light sources.

Therefore, different plant dyes should be selected according to the final spinning requirements.
