Irish Footwear Prices Fell 6.2% In December 2007

In December, Ireland's consumer price index rose by 0.1%.

Compared with last December, it increased by 0.3%.

The annual inflation rate dropped from 5% in November to 4.7% in 2007.

The EU adjusted consumer price index (HICP) increased by 0.1% in December, an increase of 0.4% compared with December 2006.

The annual inflation rate increased from 3.5% in November to 3.2% in December.

The most notable change in 2007 was that the price of natural gas and other fuels increased by 15.1%, education increased by 6%, and pportation increased by 5.1%.

The price of clothing and footwear and home accessories has dropped by 6.2%.

The annual inflation rate of services reached 6.5% in December, while the inflation rate of goods increased by 2.7%.

The most significant monthly price change is that the monthly price of natural gas and other fuels has increased by 0.7%, while the price of clothing and footwear has dropped by 3.4%.
