The estimated value of total retail sales in October 2011 was 34 billion 200 million yuan (HK $, the same below), an increase of 23.1 over the same month last year.
The total retail sales in October 2011 increased by 15 compared with the same month last year.

The revised value is estimated at $31 billion 200 million, an increase of 24 compared with September 2010, while the total sales volume increased by 15.1.
Compared with the same period in 2010, the total sales value of retail sales increased by 25.2 in the first ten months of 2011, while the total sales volume increased by 18.8.
According to the main categories of stores, the number of sales of miscellaneous consumer durables increased by 117.5 in October 2011 compared with October 2010.
Followed by jewellery, watches and clocks and precious gifts (retail sales increased by 31), electrical and photographic equipment (up 19.6), clothing (up 14.6), miscellaneous consumer goods (up 12.7), footwear, related products and other clothing accessories (up 11.3), department store products (up 10.9), automobile and auto parts (up 7), supermarket goods (up 4.7), and fuel (0.9 increase).
On the other hand, in October 2011 compared with the same month last year, the sales volume of furniture and fixtures decreased by 7.9, while that of food, alcoholic drinks and tobacco decreased by 4.
