What Is So Expensive For A Famous T-Shirt?

Famous T-Shirt Givenchy

Q: one day, I was in a department store in Hongkong.

Market

Wandering around, it happened that Alexander Alexander McQueen's T-shirt cost more than 250 dollars.

The price of a small T-shirt is so high that this T-shirt is not the case, nor the most expensive one.

But it triggered my thinking: why?

famous brand

T-shirts are so expensive?

Givenchy's retail price of a loose T-shirt is nearly $800.

A: cotton prices have risen sharply since last year and set a new record of $2.13 a pound last week.

But even

cotton

The price is rising. The cotton used in a T-shirt accounts for only a small part of its price.

Moreover, for the function, the brand T-shirt priced at hundreds of dollars is almost the same as that of Gap's 20 dollar T-shirt. It can neither absorb sweat faster nor make you feel fresher (in this respect we have T-shirts with higher technology, such as T-shirts designed for marathon athletes).

David Fung, chief buyer of I.T Apparels Ltd. in Hongkong, said that people could understand the price of these high-end T-shirts from three aspects.

I.T Apparels distributes many fashion brands such as Givenchy (Givenchy), A.P.C. and Wakubo Rei (Comme des Gar ONS) in Hongkong and Mainland China.

Although we are not encouraging people to spend a lot of money on an ordinary T-shirt, if you are willing to buy high-end T-shirts, we have the following suggestions for your reference.

1, fabric: almost all T-shirts are cotton and sometimes polyester cotton fabrics.

Some of the more expensive brands tend to adopt a more sophisticated blend of cotton, such as silk cotton, to give people a more luxurious and noble feeling.

Or they will stretch and wash the T-shirt repeatedly so that the feel of the garment will be more soft and comfortable.

2, pattern: Givenchy's loose T-shirt is one of the most expensive styles of all I.T Apparels T-shirts currently available.

It is made of leopard fabric and printed with a fierce clown pattern on the chest. The retail price is nearly $800.

David Feng said that the fabric of the T-shirt "has nothing special" and the leopard pattern is the real reason for its high price.

He explained, "last June (Paris 2011 spring and summer fashion T show), we saw many brands using leopard print elements.

The impression that the T show left is very strong, so we know we need to have it.

From shirts to shoes, leopard patterns are everywhere in Givenchy's new spring and summer fashion.

3, unique: at such a high price, how many T-shirts can David Feng sell? Not many.

Sometimes, the number of T-shirts in a shop in I.T Apparels does not add up to more than 10.

If you are going to spend hundreds of dollars on a T-shirt, the last thing you want to see is someone else wearing the same shirt.

David Feng said, "for Uniqlo, the same T-shirt will produce 10000.

And for these (T-shirts), there will be no more than 100 worldwide.
