According to the statistics of Nantong inspection and Quarantine Bureau, in the 1~10 month of this year, 326 million 583 thousand and 100 garments (sets) were exported to Nantong, and the value of goods was 1 billion 724 million 226 thousand and 100 US dollars, up 22.50% and 22.64% respectively.

According to the analysis of the industry, the main reasons for the sharp drop in clothing exports in Nantong are: first, the appreciation of the RMB and the lack of sewing workers, which weaken the comparative advantage of our country, and the foreign businessmen will shift their orders to Vietnam or other countries or regions where the processing cost is relatively low, resulting in the reduction of the market. Two, the cost pressure caused by the soaring cotton prices makes the clothing export enterprises more cautious and dare not rush to take orders, and the output is affected.
