The house of Representatives passed one item.

bill

It is expected to have a negative impact on China's textile and clothing products exported to the United States.

The bill is the Berry Amendment Act (H.R. 3116 act) requiring the pport safety agency and the coast guard to buy 100% of American made textiles and clothing unless they are manufactured or not available in the United States.

reasonable

The price and timing are purchased, and it is hoped that the request can be extended to other institutions in the United States, including the Department of homeland security, the relevant WTO government procurement department, and so on.

In addition, the house of Representatives asked for a separate measure. The US flag Act (H.R. 2853) will not allow the federal flag to be manufactured by other countries. It must buy 100 percent of the US made American flag or use 100 percent of the materials that are grown, produced and manufactured in the United States.

China is a big exporter of textiles. The export countries are mainly European Union, the United States and Japan. The export targets include clothing, curtains and textile raw materials. The introduction of the bill will have a certain impact on the export of clothing and flag manufacturers to the United States.

It is reported that from 2010 to July, China's textile and clothing trade totaled US $120 billion 730 million, of which US exports amounted to US $18 billion 979 million, up 29.66% over the same period last year.

Ningbo exports to the United States textile trade total more than 1 billion 800 million U.S. dollars.

At the same time, the mainland is also the largest supplier of American flag in the world. From January 2010 to July, it accounted for 95% of the market share, and sold 6 million 300 thousand flags, worth 2 million 100 thousand US dollars, an increase of 56.4% over 2009.

At the same time, China's textiles and clothing have been faced with the widest range, the most stringent quota restrictions and the more severe technical barriers to trade than other countries.

Previously, the United States has repeatedly restricted the export of Chinese made textiles, including cotton knitted shirts, jackets, cotton trousers, cotton and man-made fiber underwear.

Therefore, the Ningbo inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminded that textile export enterprises should keep abreast of export market information, tap their potential and actively explore new markets.
