Design is the air I breathe -- an interview with Michael Michalsky, a famous German fashion designer.

Michael Michalsky, who grew up in Berlin, was influenced by the designer Karl Lagerfeld when she was young, and was determined to be a fashion designer.

In cooperation with Adidas, Levi's, Kappa and many other brands, it was particularly memorable to work with Mr. Yamamoto Teruji to create Y-3 brand.

This unusual experience made him start to consider people's feelings when they were dressed in the design, so that sportswear could better serve life.

Feng Shangzhi: How did you keep up with the design of sportswear for many years?

Michael Michalsky: I've been crazy about design since I was 14 years old. It's part of my life.

I see the changes around me every day, and I never feel bored and tired.

Feng Shangzhi: what is the biggest change in fashion today compared with the past?

Michael Michalsky: in the past, people wore sportswear because of the need for sports. Now wearing sportswear is a trend of fashion, enjoying its comfort and vitality.

Feng Shangzhi: what do you do when there is no design inspiration?

Michael Michalsky: for me, everything inspires me.

I am very interested in life. I like to chat with different people and go to different cities. At that time, inspiration will continue to jump into my mind.

No matter lifestyle, art or different people are always giving me feedback, without these feedback, my life will not exist.

Feng Shangzhi: you have worked with Yamamoto Teruji. What have you done with these unusual experiences?

Michael Michalsky: it was a wonderful experience. At that time, I was a student of design school. This cooperation opportunity has benefited me greatly.

In his design, he will consider the feeling of people moving on his body. Secondly, he will use 13 different kinds of black when he designs, and I thought there were only 1 kinds of black.

Feng Shangzhi: how can there be 13 kinds of black?

Michael Michalsky: it depends on the different materials, the effect of light and other colors appearing in black.

Some black will be red, some pure black, some will have yellow tonal, if look at the light, it will be better distinction.

Feng Shangzhi: what is your earliest memory of fashion?

At the age of Michael Michalsky:14, I saw the report of the designer Karl Lagerfeld in the magazine, and was deeply infected, so I decided to be a fashion designer.

Feng Shangzhi: what advice do you have for young designers?

Michael Michalsky: if you want to be a designer, it must be because you really want to be a designer, not because the industry is so cool.

Because when you really become a designer, you will take it as life, take it as breathing air, 7 days a day for 24 hours every day are doing design related matters.

At the same time, keep open and open-minded and keep improving yourself.

Feng Shangzhi: apart from work, what kind of things do you like to do?

Michael Michalsky: I like running, music, art and all kinds of club activities, and of course shopping.

What I like to do is also what ordinary people like.

Feng Shangzhi: which city do you like best?

Michael Michalsky: Berlin, the city where I live.

Berlin is changing every day. It's a very interesting city.

Feng Shangzhi: what kind of people do you think is the most popular?

Michael Michalsky: I prefer people who have their own style than fashion people. Fashionable people always take other people's way to use them, while stylish people will borrow fashionable elements into their styles, and express them through dressing.

Feng Shangzhi: Please list 5 most styled things.

Michael Michalsky: jeans, jazz, tattoo, Facebook, iPad.
