Trade retaliatory measures were postponed until 2012.

Prior to this, the World Trade Organization decided that Brazil could win a lawsuit in the cotton trade dispute between Brazil and the United States, and could take retaliatory measures against the United States.

The Brazil government postponed the retaliation measures, hoping that the United States could revise its agricultural law so that it could find a satisfactory solution for Brazil, and the approval of the US agricultural law would take at least two years.

The foreign trade association of Brazil announced on the same day that it had decided not to take reprisals after negotiations with the United States, but the United States agreed to modify the export protection plan for cotton subsidies and consult the Brazil government on the issue quarterly.

The Brazil chamber of commerce also revealed that the commitments of both sides included

A series of changes to reduce the negative impact of US agricultural subsidies on Brazil.

At the same time, Brazil will not arbitrarily restart retaliatory measures.

In August 2009, the world trade organization authorized Brazil to take retaliatory measures against the United States to compensate for losses caused to Brazil by subsidies imposed on cotton farmers in the United States.

In March of this year, Brazil announced sanctions against the United States.

The list involves raising tariffs on 102 commodities, with an estimated import tax of more than $591 million a year, and the sanctions come into effect in April 22nd.

However, as the United States formally put forward a series of compensation measures for the consideration of the Brazil government, the Brazil government decided in April to postpone the implementation date of sanctions until June 22nd.
